Support Group for Parents of Young Adult Children Who Are "Failing to Launch"
Do you have a child who is college-age or older who is having difficulty staying in school, keeping a job, having lasting relationships, handling money and/or responsibilities in general?
Do you feel obligated to keep "helping" but feel that nothing is working?
Do you fear that to not help will result in your child/adult not being able to succeed in life?
I have conducted groups, written professional articles and advised parents on how to help their young adult successfully “launch.” These sessions explore:
Common obstacles to young people on their path to advancing to independence.
Contributing factors to young adults' "failing to launch."
Understanding drug/alcohol problems and other mental health issues.
Finding how much help from parents is "enough" and how much is too much.
Networking, education and support for parents.
Treatment recommendations for the young adult child if needed.
Periodically I offer support groups for parents who have adult children with difficulty launching.
